About

The name Lila Maie comes from a combination of my grandmother and mothers names. Both were a huge influence on my love of craft and sewing growing up and taught me the joy of creating something with my hands. My love of sewing began when I was just a little girl and my mother taught me to make my own dolls clothes. 

Since becoming a mother I have spent many hours lovingly creating clothing for my children, especially my daughter. As she gets older it is becoming harder and harder to find appropriate clothing for her to wear. The obsession in the retail world with making little girls look like adults is very frustrating and has lead me to want to create an alternative option. A chance for little girls to dress like little girls but still feel comfortable and free to be themselves. 

The ability to choose their own fabric and style will help them to discover their own taste in fashion and let their individual personalities show.  Because each garment is custom made, I can taylor them to specific body types to create the perfect fit. Whether it's for a special occasion or just to hang around the house, I hope that Lila Maie clothing will become a brand that you come back to time and time again.
